Starting XI | Tysiak set for 50th Hammers appearance

Amber Tysiak is set to make her 50th appearance for West Ham United women’s team in our Subway® Women's League Cup clash at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night.

Since joining the Club in January 2023, the Belgium international has grown into an experienced leader in Rehanne Skinner’s side, and will hope to mark the landmark appearance with a victory at Chigwell Construction Stadium.

The 25-year-old is named in the starting XI for the cup clash, coming into the side as one of eight changes to the team that faced Aston Villa in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday.

The three players to keep their spots are defenders Yu Endo and Shelina Zadorsky, and forward Shekiera Martinez, who was on target in our 5-1 success against Charlton Athletic last time out in the competition.

Also on the scoresheet at The Valley were Leila Wandeler, Sarah Brasero and Manuela Paví, who all come into the team, alongside goalkeeper Megan Walsh, defender Verena Hanshaw, midfielder Anna Csiki and forward Seraina Piubel.

So that means Walsh starts her second successive game in the competition and will be supported by a defence of Endo, Tysiak, Zadorsky, who will wear the captain’s armband in place of Katrina Gorry, and Hanshaw.

Brasero and Csiki will likely marshal the midfield together and hope to help create opportunities for the interchangeable front four of Paví, Wandeler, Martinez and Piubel.

Skinner has nine substitutes on her bench at Chigwell Construction Stadium: goalkeeper Kinga Szemik, defenders Anouk Denton, Eva Nyström and Selin Cemal, midfielders Oona Siren and Halle Houssein, and forwards Riko Ueki, Viviane Asseyi and Emily Taylor-Brown.

If the two teams cannot be separated after 90 minutes, the game will go to a penalty shootout and the winner of the shootout will receive an extra point.
