Zadorsky and Stapleton called up for summer internationals

West Ham United women’s team duo Shelina Zadorsky and Jessie Stapleton have been called up by Canada and the Republic of Ireland respectively for international clashes over the coming days.

Having played her part in two wins over Haiti at the end of May and in early June, Zadorsky has now been included in boss Casey Stoney’s 23-player roster for two more matches, in which she will hope to add to her tally of 111 caps.

Les Rouges are first set to take on Costa Rica, in a special Pride celebration match, at BMO Field in Toronto at 12.30am BST on Saturday 28 June. They will then travel to Washington DC to face four-time world champions the USA at Audi Field, with kick-off set for 12.30am BST on Thursday 3 July.

Stapleton - who was crowned the Republic of Ireland’s Young Women's International Player of the Year, and featured against Türkiye and Slovenia earlier this summer - has been included in Carla Ward’s 23-player squad for a double-header against the United States, across the pond.

The two teams are due to go head-to-head first at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado, at 2am BST on Friday 27 June, before reuniting at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, at 8pm BST on Sunday 29 June.
