West Ham United women’s team forward Manuela Paví has been called up to Colombia’s squad for their maiden CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League fixtures during the October international window.
This is the first edition of the tournament and will act as qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Colombia are in a group alongside the nine other South American confederation members Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. The teams that finish in the top two places will automatically qualify for the World Cup, whilst the sides that finish in third and fourth will go into a FIFA play-off tournament. Brazil qualify automatically as hosts.
Ángelo Marsiglia’s side will first host Peru on Saturday 25 October at midnight BST before traveling to Ecuador for an 11pm GMT kick-off on Tuesday 28 October.
Paví was last in action with Colombia at Copa América Femenina in the summer, as she helped her side reach the final, in which they played out an entertaining 4-4 draw with Brazil after 120 minutes.
Unfortunately for Paví and her side, they were defeated in a penalty shootout by the now record nine-time winners, denying them their first-ever Copa América Femenina title.
In the semi-finals, our No11 scored a stunning penalty to help Colombia on their way to a dramatic shootout victory over Argentina.
