Starting XI | West Ham unchanged for Leicester clash

West Ham United women’s team manager Rehanne Skinner has named an unchanged line-up for the visit of Leicester City in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday.

The Hammers put in a resilient performance against Manchester City last time out and will be looking to carry that into our clash with the Foxes in Dagenham, as we strive to record our first league victory of the season.

Goalkeeper Kinga Szemik kept a clean sheet the last time we faced the Foxes at Chigwell Construction Stadium, and she starts in goal for the 12noon GMT kick-off.

Supporting the Poland international is likely to be a back five. Ffion Morgan impressed at right wing-back last weekend in Manchester, as she was involved in plenty of our promising attacks, including when she teed up Viviane Asseyi with a smart turn and run - and she starts from the off in east London.

On the opposite flank will be Anouk Denton, who made her 50th WSL appearance for the Club last weekend following her first-ever call-up to England’s senior squad during the October international break.

And in between the two wing-backs will be vice-captain Shelina Zadorsky, Amber Tysiak and Yu Endo. Tysiak will face off against a fellow Belgium international in Dagenham, in the form of Sari Kees.

Moving into midfield, captain Katrina Gorry and Oona Siren will be protecting the defensive line, while also looking to help support the Irons in our attacks.

Viviane Asseyi has a prolific record against the Foxes, scoring five goals in her last three games against them, which includes our pre-season friendly in Australia in 2024, and she starts in Skinner’s attack this afternoon.

Alongside the France international up front are Shekiera Martinez and Riko Ueki.

Skinner has nine substitutes at her disposal at Chigwell Construction Stadium. Megan Walsh is the goalkeeping alternative, whilst the defenders on the bench are Inès Belloumou, Eva Nyström and Verena Hanshaw.

Midfielders Anna Csiki, Sarah Brasero and Halle Houssein are also among the substitutes, and the manager’s attacking options on the bench are Leila Wandeler and Manuela Paví.

Forward Seraina Piubel remains sidelined with a knock.
