West Ham United women’s team forward Viviane Asseyi enjoyed her best campaign to date in Claret and Blue during 2024/25.
The France international ended the season as Rehanne Skinner’s side’s top-scorer in all competitions, providing 13 goals and contributing seven assists.
But undeniably, the pick of the bunch came away at Crystal Palace on Sunday 27 April in a record-breaking 7-1 victory for the Hammers. Asseyi collected the ball in her own half before charging forward and unleashing a stunning 30-yard lob over Palace goalkeeper Shae Yañez.
The outrageous strike from the 31-year-old won the Barclays Women’s Super League’s Goal of the Month award, while Asseyi was also up for the league’s December Player of the Month accolade throughout the campaign.
West Ham fans acknowledged Asseyi’s outstanding contribution last term and crowned her their women’s team Hammer of the Year for 2024/25. She also picked up the Women’s Football Icon accolade at the Women’s Football Awards in May, capping off a memorable season for our No20.
