Tysiak called up to Belgium's Women's Euro 2025 squad

West Ham United women’s team defender Amber Tysiak has been called up to Belgium’s squad for their UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 campaign in July.

The centre-back, who made 22 appearances across all competitions for the Hammers last term, is one of the 23 players heading to Switzerland to represent Belgium, as her side look to better their quarter-final finish in the 2022 edition of the competition.

Belgium, who qualified for the tournament in December courtesy of a two-legged play-off victory over Ukraine, have been drawn in Group B alongside Spain, Italy and Portugal.

The Red Flames’ campaign will commence at Stade Tourbillon in Sion when they face Italy (Thursday 3 July, kick-off 5pm BST), before they take on 2023 World Cup champions Spain (Monday 7 July, 5pm BST) at Stockhorn Arena in Thun. Belgium’s group stage will then conclude at Stade Tourbillon against Portugal (Friday 11 July, 8pm BST).

Tysiak was key in her country’s qualification for the tournament, helping keep a clean sheet in their play-off final first leg against Ukraine - a 2-0 success - which was followed up with a 2-1 victory in the second leg, in which our No5 again played 90 minutes.

More recently, the 25-year-old, who has represented her country at a major tournament before, the 2022 Euros, helped Belgium keep out Portugal in a 3-0 win to earn her side a UEFA Women’s Nations League relegation play-off tie with the Republic of Ireland, in October.

Everyone at West Ham United would like to congratulate Amber on her call-up and wish her
every success at this summer’s Euros.
