Emma Harries is next to step up to our random question challenge. Which ones will our No12 pull out? Find out below!
What is your favourite holiday destination?
I’d have to say Spain, my family have always gone there on holiday. We used to go to Alcúdia in Mallorca quite a lot, and I have some really nice memories from those trips that we took as a family.
Most recently, I went to Greece with my partner, and it was absolutely roasting!
Who is the most exciting women’s footballer in the world right now?
Aitana Bonmatí. Her displays at major tournaments recently have shown the world what a brilliant player she is.
Yui Hasegawa is another player I would put on that list, too. I’ve never seen two players who can manipulate the ball as well as those two can right now.
What is your favourite film?
At Christmas time, I’ll always watch The Holiday, that’s a great one. I wouldn’t say I have a massive favourite though; I just binge a lot of TV series to be honest. I could be watching Come Dine with Me one minute, and then 24 Hours in A&E the next!
What is your biggest pet peeve?
So, mine is when you’ve got dirty dishes that are in the washing up bowl and they’re just left there. You can’t wash all of them up if there’s now not enough room to wash things properly in the bowl.
Funnily enough, it’s usually me that does this rather than my partner. I really annoy myself when I do it!
What’s your biggest phobia?
This is a funny one! As a kid, I was terrified of The Muppets, especially Kermit the Frog. My nan and grandad put it on when I was probably a little too young, and even to this day I can’t watch it. I have that fear from when I was a child.
Anything to do with puppets as well, I hate them! That fear has really stuck with me.
What were your best and worst subjects at school?
My best subject was English, and my worst was either Maths or Science. I didn’t really get on with anything that was logical, but I enjoyed being creative, so that’s probably why I liked English a lot.
What was your first job?
I’ve been quite lucky in a sense that I’m a young player and the women’s game has got so much more professional as I started to come through the ranks, so this has been my only real job.
I did have two weeks where I did some waitressing at a little independent restaurant when I was 16, but it didn’t last very long. I couldn’t remember any of the orders, and I struggled with juggling it with my education at the time.
What’s still on your bucket list?
I would love to travel to somewhere like Thailand or India. My favourite animals are elephants, so I would like to visit the elephant sanctuaries.
Do you have a secret talent?
I wouldn’t say it’s a talent, but I would say I’m a good cook. I really enjoy cooking, and it’s probably something that people don’t really associate with footballers.
Who were your idols growing up?
My dad used to show me clips of Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp when I was growing up. I just missed their golden era I would say, so my dad would put on Premier League Years and he would show me what they were like. That’s a really nice memory that we have together.
On the women’s side, I would say Kelly Smith and Fara Williams, who I was lucky enough to play with at Reading when I was coming through.
