Women's Loan Watch | Walsh features in Watford's FA Cup rout

With many players not in action due to the international break, two West Ham United women’s team loanees featured for their respective temporary clubs over the weekend...

Midfielder Soraya Walsh helped Watford secure an emphatic 5-0 victory away at Actonians to progress to the second round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on Sunday.

Starting and playing all 90 minutes of the cup clash in west London, Walsh and her side took a 2-0 lead into the break after goals from Drè Georgiou and Izzy Fisher, before Freda Ayisi, Lachante Paul and Coral Haines rounded off a successful afternoon in the second period.

Fellow Hammers loanee Rebekah Dowsett was an unused substitute for Watford.

The Hornets, top of the Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, will find out their second-round opponents when the draw takes place at 7pm GMT on Monday 27 October. The draw will be streamed live on the TNT Sports Football YouTube channel.

Unfortunately, Ruby Warwick's Barking will not be in the hat on Monday evening, as they fell to a 5-3 defeat at higher-league London Bees at the weekend.

Competing in the first round proper of the competition for the first time in their history, Barking went toe-to-toe with London Bees and took a 2-2 scoreline into half-time.

The Blues then took the lead for the second time in the contest on 52 minutes, but the hosts rallied and conjured up three second-half goals to progress to the second round.

Barking will return to London & South East Regional Women's Premier Division action at home to bottom-of-the-table Ebbsfleet United on Sunday.
