West Ham United women’s team’s Sarah Brasero and Anouk Denton have been named in Emma Coates’ England U23s squad for their WU23 European Competition fixtures in October.
For the 2025/26 edition of the competition, the Young Lionesses have been drawn in Group A alongside Portugal, France, Germany and Norway.
With five other nations competing in Group B, all ten teams will travel to Spain for a finals week in April, where the top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
England will get their campaign up and running against Germany U23s at SportPark Johannisau in Fulda on Thursday 23 October, which will kick off at 5.15pm BST.
The Young Lionesses will then host Portugal U23s at Northampton’s Sixfields Stadium at 7pm GMT on Monday 27 October, which will be streamed live on England's YouTube channel.
Midfielder Brasero, who signed for the Hammers in the summer from Primeira Liga outfit G.D. Estoril Praia, made her U23s debut in December 2024, having also played for England at U15 and U19 level.
She netted her first goal in Claret and Blue in our Subway® Women's League Cup rout over Charlton Athletic in September, scoring Rehanne Skinner's side's fourth of the evening at The Valley.
Meanwhile, full-back Denton, who was nominated for the Young Player of the Year prize at the Women's Football Awards last season, was handed her first appearance for England U23s in September 2023 and has since enjoyed regular call-ups to Coates’ side.
The 22-year-old has started every Barclays Women's Super League fixture this season.
