West Ham United women’s team striker Riko Ueki has been named in Japan’s squad for their friendlies during the October international break.
The forward has been ever-present for the Hammers in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season and recently committed her future to the Club by signing a contract extension in September.
The 26-year-old, who made her 50th WSL appearance for the Irons against London City Lionesses on Sunday, has won more than 40 caps for her country since making her senior debut in April 2019.
Ueki will be hoping to earn another two caps at the end of this month. Japan will first face Italy on Friday 24 October at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in Como at 5.15pm BST.
Nils Nielsen’s side will then travel to Ciudad de La Línea Stadium in Cádiz, Spain, on Tuesday 28 October to play Norway in a 5pm GMT kick-off.
In February, Ueki and Japan lifted the SheBelieves Cup for the first time in their history, following victories over the USA, Australia and Colombia.
