Camila Sáez and Jessie Stapleton

Internationals | Sáez and Stapleton receive Chile and Republic of Ireland call-ups

West Ham United women’s team defender Camila Sáez has been named in Chile’s squad for the upcoming international break, as they continue their CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League campaign, which acts as qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Chile sit second in the standings after they won one of their two matches during the October international break.

They will first take on Peru at Estadio Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, in Cusco, on Friday 28 November at 9pm GMT, before hosting Paraguay on Tuesday 2 December at Estadio El Teniente, in Rancagua, at 11pm GMT.

Sáez is currently on loan at Barclays Women’s Super League 2 side Bristol City, and has scored two goals and registered two assists in nine league appearances.

Meanwhile, fellow defender Jessie Stapleton has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming training camp in Spain, which will conclude with a behind-closed-doors friendly against Hungary.

Stapleton was involved with her country during the October international break, when her side defeated Belgium over two legs to earn promotion to League A of the UEFA Women’s Nations League.

The Republic of Ireland will face Hungary on Saturday 29 November, which will not be open for the general public.

Our No24, who was named the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) Young Women’s International Player of the Year in June 2025, is currently on loan at WSL 2 side Nottingham Forest.
