West Ham United women's team's Inès Belloumou started for Algeria in their final warm-up match ahead of their 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations campaign on Tuesday evening.
However, Les Fennecs were defeated 3-0 by Senegal at Stade Mustapha Tchaker, in Blida, courtesy of three second-half goals.
Nguenar Ndiaye broke the deadlock in the 56th minute before Hapsatou Diallo and Ndeye Casset struck Senegal’s second and third of the evening in the space of four minutes.
Algeria will now turn to preparing for their opening Women's Africa Cup of Nations fixture, which comes against Botswana on Sunday 6 July (kick-off 8pm BST) at Stade Père Jégo, Casablanca, Morocco.
Alongside Botswana in Group B, Belloumou and Algeria will also face Tunisia (Thursday 10 July, 5pm BST) and Nigeria (Sunday 13 July, 8pm BST).
The 15th edition of the tournament will conclude on Saturday 26 July at Olympic Stadium, Rabat.
