West Ham United left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf has been included in Senegal’s squad for a prestigious international friendly against Lucas Paquetá’s Brazil at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on Saturday 15 November at 4pm GMT.
Diouf has been a regular member of the Senegal squad since making his debut against XX in September 2024 and now has ten senior caps.
Having helped Senegal qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by finishing top of CAF qualifying Group B, Diouf will now hope to earn his eleventh cap when Pape Thiaw’s squad take on Brazil in north London.
After defeating England 3-0 in Nottingham in June, the Lions of Teranga will seek another historic first victory over one of world football’s leading nations when they face the South American giants and five-times FIFA World Cup winners.
Senegal’s own best and most famous appearance at a World Cup was in 2002, where they reached the quarter-finals of the tournament in Japan and South Korea. In 2018, they became the first team in World Cup history to be eliminated using the fair play rule, at the group stage, and in 2022, they were beaten 3-0 by England in the round of 16 in Qatar.
