Evans involved in friendly wins for Scotland

Lisa Evans was involved in friendly victories for Scotland against Northern Ireland and Finland over the past week.

The 31-year-old midfielder was a late call-up to the squad for two fixtures after Angel City forward Claire Emslie withdrew ahead of the camp.

On Friday 14 July, a strong first half from Pedro Martínez Losa's side saw them race into a 3-0 lead at Dens Park through goals from Erin Cuthbert, Sam Kerr and former Hammer, Martha Thomas.

There would be no fightback from the away side, with the visitors failing to register an effort on target throughout the 90 minutes. Evans entered the field in the 70th minute.

Losa's side made it four game wins in a row when they narrowly edged past Finland in Tampere on Tuesday 18 July.

Caroline Weir celebrated her 100th cap with the opener on 13 minutes, before 17-year-old Emma Watson struck six minutes later, slotting in for the third time in four Scotland games.

Elli Pikkujamsa managed to get a goal back for Finland on 25 minutes, but they couldn't grab an equaliser before the full time whistle blew. Evans was once again brought off the bench, this time in the 69th minute.
