Hawa Cissoko’s stunning strike in West Ham United’s historic victory over Arsenal has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Goal of the Month award for February.
The France international netted what would prove to be the winner at Chigwell Construction Stadium just shy of the hour mark, latching on to the ball just inside the area and showing fantastic technique to hit a first-time, left-footed finish beyond a despairing Manuela Zinsburger.
The goal helped secure a 2-1 scoreline that marked West Ham’s first ever WSL win over the Gunners, which came immediately after a similar triumph away at Bristol City at the end of January.
