West Ham United women’s team trio Dagný Brynjarsdóttir, Halle Houssein and Manuela Paví have been called up to represent Iceland, Turkey and Colombia respectively during the upcoming international break.
Midfielder Brynjarsdóttir, who made her return to the Iceland set-up in February for the first time since April 2023, will look to help her country pick up more points in their final two UEFA Women’s Nations League group-stage matches.
Third-place Iceland, who have only lost one of their four Group A2 Nations League matches so far, will first face second-place Norway (Friday 30 May, kick-off 7pm BST) before hosting current top-of-the-table side France, in Reykjavík (Tuesday 3 June, 7pm BST).
In the previous meetings, France narrowly edged past Iceland with a 3-2 success back in February, while Iceland and Norway played out a goalless draw in April.
Iceland will be hoping to use the two matches to build momentum ahead of their UEFA Women’s Euro campaign, which gets underway on Wednesday 2 July against Finland.
Meanwhile, Houssein, who spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Turkish club Beylerbeyi, has been called up to Turkey's squad for their Group B2 fixtures against the Republic of Ireland and Greece.
With three points from their four matches, third-place Turkey will have to win both of their matches to have a chance of reaching the promotion play-offs.
Elsewhere, winger Paví will face South Korea in a pair of friendlies across the international break (Friday 30 May, 11am BST, Monday 2 June, 11am BST).
The 24-year-old, who in her first season at the Club scored three goals in all competitions for the Hammers last term, featured for Colombia in their SheBelieves Cup campaign, helping them finish third during the February international break, before going on to face Riko Ueki’s Japan in April.
Brynjarsdóttir and Paví join the list of eleven other women’s team players in action during the upcoming international break.
