Women's team's end-of-season internationals | All You Need To Know

There will be 14 West Ham United women’s team players on the international stage over the next week, representing their countries across UEFA Women’s Nations League and friendly fixtures.

For some players, the upcoming international break brings the curtain down on their 2024/25 campaign, but for others, they will be using it to help their preparation for this summer’s UEFA Women’s Euros.

But, while the Euros will be in the forefront of a lot of people's minds, there is a lot to play for in the Nations League, as the group stage of the competition comes to its conclusion.

Here’s the lowdown on who has been called up and how you can follow your Hammers on international duty!

Who has been called up?

Nine Hammers will be competing in the final group-stages matches in the Women’s Nations League.

In Group A1, Verena Hanshaw has been called up to third-place Austria’s squad as they prepare to take on bottom-of-the-table Scotland and leaders Germany. While they cannot reach the finals of the competition, Austria will be confirmed in a relegation play-off if they avoid defeat against Scotland.

Two women’s team players will again feature in Group A2: Seraina Piubel and Dagný Brynjarsdóttir. Piubel’s Switzerland - who will host UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 in July - are currently bottom of the standings, yet to chalk up a point on the board. They will hope to get off the mark when they face leaders France in Nancy before welcoming Norway to Sion.

Meanwhile, Brynjarsdóttir and Iceland will also take on France, who have already qualified for the finals of the competition, in Reykjavik, which follows their match away at Norway.

Elsewhere, defender Amber Tysiak and Belgium will be looking to build on their victory over reigning Euros champions England in the last international break with positive results at home to top-of-the-table Spain and away at third-place Portugal. While they cannot qualify for the finals, Belgium still have to finish third to avoid automatic relegation.

At the summit of Group B1, unbeaten Poland have once again called up goalkeeper Kinga Szemik, who will look to help her country secure promotion should they avoid defeat against second-place Northern Ireland in Belfast. They will also take on bottom-of-the-table Romania.

Also seeking promotion is Jessie Stapleton and her second-place Republic of Ireland side, who could confirm a spot in the Group B2 promotion play-offs if they draw with Halle Houssein's third-place Türkiye on Friday. Should the Republic of Ireland win and top-of-the-table Slovenia lose to Greece, both teams would head into their clash in Cork on Tuesday level on points at the summit.

Houssein and Türkiye, who have three points from their four matches, will also be playing bottom-of-the-table Greece during the international break.

Meanwhile, in Group B3, Oona Siren and Eva Nyström could also secure second-place Finland a spot in the promotion play-offs, should they draw with bottom-side Belarus and leaders Serbia beat third-place Hungary. However, if results go their way, automatic promotion could be secured with a win over Serbia in Helsinki on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, five West Ham players will be competing in friendlies over the course of the international break.

Defender Shelina Zadorsky has been named in Canada’s squad for their upcoming pair of friendlies against Haiti, while Riko Ueki has been called up to Japan’s squad for their fixtures against Brazil.

Camila Sáez will again link up with Chile, for their friendly match against Catalonia on Sunday, as forward Shekiera Martinez has been called up to Germany's U23s squad for their friendly fixtures against USA U23s.

Meanwhile, Colombia winger Manuela Paví has once again been called up by her country, this time to face South Korea in a double-header.
