For new West Ham United women’s team signing Yu Endo, all she has known is Urawa Reds.
The experienced full-back, who will wear the No2 shirt, spent 15 years at her former side, winning an abundance of silverware whilst also earning two senior caps for the Japan national team.
Her professional debut for the club came in October 2016 before she became a mainstay in the side in 2018. Then, after finishing second in 2019/20, Endo and Urawa Reds won the Nadeshiko League Division 1 title and, subsequently, promotion to the WE League - Japan’s top tier.
Endo impressed in her first campaign after promotion, making 19 appearances as her side finished second in the top flight. But that didn’t stop them from clinching silverware, as they lifted the Empress's Cup - Japan’s national cup - for the first time in their history.
But the two seasons that followed were even more impressive for Endo and her team. In 2022/23 and 2023/24, Urawa Reds won back-to-back WE League titles and AFC Women's Champions League trophies, while also lifting the WE League Cup in 2023.
In 2023/24, Endo featured in every league match before repeating the same feat the following season, but Urawa Reds were unable to chalk up a third successive title, finishing third. However, they did continue their impressive run of collecting silverware by clinching their second Empress's Cup.
Endo made 171 appearances for Urawa Reds, scoring 13 goals, and will look to bring her winning mentality to east London.
