After providing 20 assists across 180 appearances in all competitions, Vladimír Coufal is leaving West Ham United after five glorious years in Claret and Blue.
The 32-year-old has enjoyed an illustrious career in east London that yielded a 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League winner’s medal and will go down as a true fan favourite, with a few of the very many reasons for that being his tenacious approach, his desire to battle through the pain barrier and his creativity when going forward.
Having arrived from Slavia Prague in October 2020, the season which followed couldn't have been much better.
In terms of assists, Coufal registered his first for the Irons with an inch-perfect cross to tee up Michail Antonio against Manchester City on just his third appearance and finished his maiden Premier League season with seven assists for West Ham, one behind Aaron Cresswell.
Meanwhile, the pair created more assists (15) than any other top-flight full-back duo in the 2020/21 season, with Coufal finishing runner-up in the coveted Hammer of the Year award for the campaign, behind Czech compatriot Tomáš Souček.
In 2021/22, our No5 set up several crucial goals, including one en route to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, before matching his single-season high set in his debut season with seven assists throughout 2023/24.
The only thing missing from the Czech’s career in Claret and Blue was that elusive first goal, and despite coming agonisingly close on several occasions, he was never able to break his duck.
