Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham United women's team
Barclays Women's Super League, Broadfield Stadium, Sunday 21 September 2025, 12noon BST
Midfielder Anna Csiki is set to make her West Ham United debut in our Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.
The Hammers head to Broadfield Stadium to face the Seagulls looking to pick up our first points of the fresh campaign, having faced Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the opening two matches of the season.
After she was part of the matchday squad that faced the Gunners last Friday night in Dagenham, Csiki, who joined on a season-long loan from Spurs on transfer deadline day, is named in Rehanne Skinner’s starting XI, replacing defender Amber Tysiak, who is named on the bench.
Hungary international Csiki joined the Lilywhites ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and made 13 appearances across all competitions in her maiden season in England.
The only other change to the line-up sees goalkeeper Kinga Szemik replace Megan Walsh after the Poland international recovered from an injury that she picked up during the second half against Spurs on the opening day of the season.
So, with Szemik in between the sticks, Skinner is lining up with a back four in Crawley, consisting of Anouk Denton, Eva Nyström, Shelina Zadorsky and Verena Hanshaw.

Sitting in front of our defence this afternoon will be captain Katrina Gorry and Oona Siren, as Csiki slots into an attack alongside Viviane Asseyi, Shekiera Martinez and Riko Ueki.
Asseyi, Martinez and Ueki were all on target in our last meeting against the Seagulls, which saw us secure a 3-1 success at Chigwell Construction Stadium in February.
Alongside Walsh and Tysiak on the substitutes' bench are Yu Endo, Inès Belloumou, Manuela Paví, Sarah Brasero, Ffion Morgan, Leila Wandeler and Seraina Piubel.
Ahead of kick-off this afternoon, both teams will take part in a minute’s silence in memory of former West Ham manager Matt Beard, who sadly passed away this weekend.
Matt joined us in the summer of 2018 ahead of our first season in the WSL and led us to the final of the Women’s FA Cup at Wembley in May 2019, helping build the foundations for our recent success.
Both sides will also wear black armbands during the game in Matt’s memory.
