West Ham United vice-captain Declan Rice has been nominated for the Premier League’s Hublot Young Player of the Season award.
Off the back of a summer in which Rice helped his country reach its first major final in 55 years, the 23-year-old – this week crowned 2021/22 Betway Hammer of the Year – has furthered his and his Club’s eye-catching progress in domestic and continental football.
The No41 has been in first-class form in Claret & Blue, wearing the captain’s armband in 31 of his 34 Premier League appearances, scoring once and picking up four assists.
What’s more, Rice has played more Premier League minutes – 2,998 – than any other outfield Hammer at the time of writing, producing more passes, tackles, interceptions and touches than any of his teammates.

The nomination comes during a successful campaign in which our inspirational midfielder has led our charge to qualify for European football through our league position in consecutive seasons for the first time in the Club's history.
More widely, Rice has made 48 appearances in all competitions, starring in the Irons’ memorable run to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals with three goals and a series of inspirational displays.
In Premier League terms, Rice will face competition for the Hublot Young Player of the Season award from seven other senior England internationals.
As well as our No41, the list comprises Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold; Manchester City's Phil Foden; Crystal Palace duo Conor Gallagher and Tyrick Mitchell; Chelsea's Mason Mount; and Arsenal pair Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka.
