In action twice over the Bank Holiday weekend, Academy goalkeeper Mason Terry produced two outstanding performances for Braintree Town in the Enterprise National League.
On Saturday, Terry helped the Iron open their account for the 2025/26 season with three straight home wins and clean sheets, as they edged Yeovil Town 1-0. With the visitors piling on late pressure, the 20-year-old produced three stoppage-time saves to secure both the points and his side’s shutout.
❌ Yet to concede at home!

Just a day later, Braintree made the long trip north to Carlisle United, who are competing in the National League for the first time in two decades following their relegation from EFL League Two in May.
Despite ending up on the wrong side of a 5-0 scoreline, Terry still caught the eye making a host of saves to prevent the margin from being wider, earning great praise from the travelling supporters and admiration from the large Brunton Park home support.
Terry was rewarded for his performances by featuring in the Enterprise National League Team of the Week.

In EFL League One, Michael Forbes was not involved in Northampton Town’s first league win of the season, a 2-0 victory over Exeter City that lifted the Cobblers out of the relegation zone.
Also in the third tier, Gideon Kodua and Luton Town suffered their first home defeat of the campaign against League One leaders Cardiff City, for whom Chris Willock’s 69th-minute strike sealed the points.
The Bluebirds were indebted to West Ham United Academy graduate Nathan Trott, the only goalkeeper in the division yet to concede this season, who produced an inspired display. Kodua replaced Nigel Longwijk and almost created an equaliser for Lasse Selvåg Nordås, but Trott denied him.
In the EFL Championship, Kaelan Casey was named among the substitutes for Swansea City's 1-1 draw with Watford. The young centre-back will now be hoping to make his second start in the EFL Cup this evening, when the Swans host Plymouth Argyle in the second round.
