Loan Watch | Kodua grabs assist while Terry reaches 100 senior game landmark

In midweek Enterprise National League action, Academy goalkeeper Mason Terry celebrated reaching 100 senior games as Braintree Town hosted Tamworth.

The 20-year-old shot stopper, who had been averaging over five saves a game, was yet to concede at home for the Iron in his first four games at Cressing Road.

After a couple of saves in the first half however, there was little Terry could do as his goal was finally breached when Beck-Ray Enoru squared it for Manny Duku to open the scoring for Tamworth on 34 minutes.

Although Braintree’s Frankie Terry equalised from a corner, Enoru restored the away side’s lead, beating five Braintree defenders before slotting home beyond a helpless Terry who had clashes with his own players as they scrambled to tackle the Tamworth No10.

In Vertu Trophy action, Gideon Kodua started his second game in just four days as Luton Town opened their Southern Group H account with a resounding win over Barnet.

Just eleven minutes in, Kodua was picked out by Zach Nelson down the wing before he zipped in an excellent low cross for Lasse Nordås to open the scoring.

Further goals from Jerry Yates, a stunning free-kick from Cohen Bramall and a late Shayden Morris penalty sealed a comfortable 4-1 triumph.

Both Kodua in EFL League One and Terry in the National League are set to return to action following the international break, when Luton host Plymouth Argyle and Braintree welcome York City.
