West Ham United women’s team’s Jess Ziu has been an inspiration on her road to recovery.
The 23-year-old has had to endure another long season on the sidelines after suffering her second anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in less than two years, which came in a behind-closed-doors friendly ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, following her first ACL injury in November 2022.
The Republic of Ireland international has shown an extreme amount of resilience to go again, and fight her way back on to the training pitch, and now she is almost ready to stake her claim in Rehanne Skinner’s side once more.
We spoke to Ziu, as well as her teammates and close friends Amber Tysiak, Shelina Zadorsky and Camila Sáez, about her road to recovery, and captured exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.
