West Ham United women’s team forward Leila Wandeler has been named in Switzerland’s squad for their international friendlies at the end of this month.
Having made the move to east London from OL Lyonnes in August, the 19-year-old, who scored a stunning solo goal against Charlton Athletic in the Subway® Women’s League Cup in September, retains her place in the squad after she represented her country at their home European Championships in the summer.
After making her senior international debut in a friendly against Czechia in June, Wandeler made three appearances at the Euros, registering an assist against Iceland in her side’s second Group A fixture.
At the end of October, our No27 and Switzerland will face Shelina Zadorsky’s Canada on Friday 24 October at Swissporarena in Lucerne, with kick-off coming at 6.30pm BST.
They then have an away trip to Dunfermline on Tuesday 28 October, where they will take on Scotland at East End Park at 7.30pm GMT.
