West Ham United women’s team defender Amber Tysiak has been called up by Belgium for two crucial UEFA Women’s Nations League clashes against the Republic of Ireland later this month.
The 25-year-old has featured in three of the Hammers’ five Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures so far this season, as well as both of the Subway® Women’s League Cup victories over Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion. Indeed, Tysiak made her 50th West Ham appearance in all competitions against the Seagulls, and she will now return to international duty, having made three appearances at UEFA Women's Euro 2025 during the summer.
After finishing third in Group A3 during the regular running of the Nations League, and scored an eye-catching 3-2 win over England in one of their six matches, the Red Flames are now to set to contest a promotion/relegation play-off against the Irish, who earned a runners-up spot in Group B2.
The two teams are first set to go head-to-head at 7pm BST on Friday 24 October, at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, before reconvening at the King Power at Den Dreef Stadion in Leuven, at 7.30pm GMT on Tuesday 28 October.
Whichever side emerges victorious after the two legs will seal their place in League A for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification campaign, which will use an identical league structure to the 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League.
