Oona Siren and Eva Nyström

Internationals | Siren and Nyström in Finland squad for Nations League play-off tie

Hammers duo Oona Siren and Eva Nyström have both been called up to Finland’s squad for their UEFA Women’s Nations League play-off tie with Denmark.

Finland finished second in Group B3 and will face Denmark, who finished third in Group A4, for a place in League A for the European qualifiers phase for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Marko Saloranta’s side will host Denmark on Friday 24 October at Tammelan Stadion, Tampere, for a 5pm BST kick-off.

The reverse fixture will take place on Tuesday 28 October at 5pm GMT at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.

In their Nations League campaign, Finland did the double over Hungary and Belarus, and also took a point from a home clash against Serbia.

Siren and Nyström both played at their first-ever European Championships over the summer as Finland were knocked out at the group stage of the competition.

In a dramatic final set of Group A fixtures, a late goal from hosts Switzerland denied Helmarit a place in the quarter-finals on goal difference.

Siren has been ever-present for the Hammers this term, whilst Nyström has started four of our WSL fixtures in 2025/26.
