Manuela Paví in action against Brazil

Internationals | Paví helps Colombia to Copa América semi-finals

Manuela Paví came off the bench to help Colombia qualify for the Copa América Femenina semi-finals with a 0-0 draw against Brazil on Friday night.

Needing a point to make sure of a top two spot in Group B, Colombia ended their first round campaign with the result they required in Quito, Ecuador.

Their cause was helped by a first half red card to Brazil goalkeeper Lorena for handling the ball outside the penalty area, and although a goal would not arrive for Paví's side, ultimately it was not to matter.

Hammers forward Paví was introduced to the action 63 minutes in, and will now turn her attentions to her country's last four tie.

In that round, they will take on Argentina, also in Quito, on Monday.

Meanwhile, Camila Sáez and Chile's fifth-place match opponents were confirmed as Paraguay, after they defeated Venezuela to overhaul them into third place in Group B.
