Defender Dinos Mavropanos and midfielder Edson Álvarez are the latest West Ham United stars to be called up for summer international action by their countries.
Mavropanos has been included in Ivan Jovanović’s 26-man Greece squad for two home friendlies, against Slovakia (Saturday 7 June, 7.45pm BST) and Bulgaria (Tuesday 10 June, 7.45pm BST) at the Pankritio Stadium in Crete.
The UEFA Euro 2004 winners will look to use the fixtures to build momentum ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, which they will begin against Belarus in September.
Having made 35 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers during 2024/25, Mavropanos will now be looking to add to his impressive international record of 35 caps and two goals.
Elsewhere, Álvarez - who featured 31 times in Claret and Blue during the recently-concluded season - has been named in Mexico’s 35-man training squad ahead of the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which starts next month.
Boss Javier Aguirre must whittle the group down to 26 players by the 4 June deadline, before El Tri finalise their preparations for the tournament with US-based friendlies against Switzerland (Saturday 7 June, 9pm BST), in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Türkiye (Wednesday 11 June, 1.30am BST), in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
After leading his country to CONCACAF Nations League glory in March, 85-times capped Álvarez will be hoping for similar success on the Gold Cup stage in Canada and the USA this summer, where the defending champions will begin their Group A campaign against the Dominican Republic on Sunday 15 June (3.15am BST).
