1. She spent the first eight years of her career in Hungary
Born just outside of Budapest, new women’s team signing Anna Csiki learned her craft in her home country, Hungary.
After growing up playing with boys until the age of 13, Csiki joined Ferencváros, whom she said is the biggest club in Hungary for both men’s and women’s football - a ‘no-brainer’ of a decision, as she described in her first interview with West Ham TV.
Her debut came just two years after signing. A 15-year-old Csiki made her first appearance in senior football, and she went on to enjoy plenty of success at the Budapest-based outfit, lifting the league title twice and clinching the domestic cup on three occasions.
It was also during her time at Ferencváros that she earned her first call-up to Hungary’s national squad, in 2017, and she currently has 50 international caps to her name.

2. She’s a trailblazer
Following four seasons at Swedish side BK Häcken FF, where she played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Csiki made the move to England in the summer of 2024, joining Tottenham Hotspur.
When she came on for her Spurs debut in September against Crystal Palace, Csiki made history as she became the first-ever Hungarian to play in the WSL.
The 25-year-old went on to feature a further 12 times for the Lilywhites across all competitions in her first taste of English football, and now becomes West Ham women’s team’s first Hungarian player too!
3. She’s a Ballon d'Or winner
In January, Csiki was crowned Women's Hungarian Ballon d'Or winner - the first-ever winner of the award!
Following her standout performances for her country in 2024, Hungary's oldest online football website NB1.hu presented her with the accolade after she was selected by a panel of editors.
"I didn't even know about it!" she said. "I got a call one day and they told me I won the Ballon d'Or in Hungary. It was a bit weird but I'm really proud of that. Hopefully it's not the last one for me, I'm aiming for the next one as well. It was a nice feeling."

4. She's the second women’s player to make the switch from Spurs to West Ham
Csiki follows in the footsteps of current vice-captain Shelina Zadorsky in crossing the capital to join West Ham United from Tottenham Hotspur.
Canada international Zadorsky joined the Hammers on loan in January 2024 before making her move permanent last summer, and then signing a contract extension in July.
Other players to have represented both clubs include Martha Thomas, Becky Spencer and Cho So-hyun.

5. She can't wait to get going
The start of the 2025/26 WSL season is almost upon us, and the Irons’ opening fixture sees them travel to Spurs on Sunday, with kick-off at 12noon.
A creative, hard-working, left-footed player, Csiki is looking forward to making memories in Claret and Blue.
"I'm really excited to be here and I can't wait to get started," she said. "Everything I've heard about the Club made me feel that this was the right decision for me.
"I'm really, really excited to get started, to put the shirt on, run out at the stadium and play with the girls in front of the fans."
