Maximilian Kilman

Fantasy Premier League | Gameweek 8 Hints and Tips

West Ham United continue the 2025/26 Premier League campaign by welcoming Brentford to east London for the fourth home fixture of the season, looking for a win in Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo's first game in charge at London Stadium.

Brentford's visit on Monday evening will be Nuno's third game as Head Coach and the Portuguese will be eyeing the first win of his reign against the Bees.

The fixture with Keith Andrews' Brentford has a Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR) of three out of five, suggesting it represents an opportunity to collect points by picking Hammers in your FPL team.

The Gameweek 8 transfer deadline is set for 11am on Saturday 18 October.

While we will be giving you FPL tips and tricks throughout the remainder of the 2025/26 season on whufc.com, see below for some of our picks for the upcoming round.

El Hadji Malick Diouf

Kilman and Diouf’s eye-catching DefCon stats…

This season defensive contribution points, better known as 'DefCons', are delivering huge hauls for many FPL managers. Every clearance, block, interception and tackle could lead to points.

So, with defenders being so valuable right now, our No3 Maximilian Kilman (£4.4m) could be a differential pick. He registered 20 clearances, blocks, interceptions or tackles (CBIT) against Arsenal to comfortably pick up two DefCons, which offers plenty of encouragement ahead of the visit of the Bees.

Likewise, the same can be said for left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf (£4.4m), who arrives back in east London following the October international break after helping Senegal secure first place in Group B of the African preliminaries and a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Our No12 has taken the Premier League by storm since his move from SK Slavia Prague this summer, having registered three assists so far, and has accumulated an impressive 26 points already.

Callum Marshall

Bowen to sting the Bees?

Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) has been talismanic for West Ham this season, having registered three nine-point hauls in his last five Premier League fixtures and has already scored three goals this season.

Furthermore, our captain notched his first career hat-trick against Brentford in his fixture in 2023/24, when he became just our eighth top-flight hat-trick hero in an unplayable performance at London Stadium.

Other than Bowen, if you fancy taking a gamble, why not bet on Callum Marshall (£4.4m) scoring his first Premier League goal?

The 20-year-old forward was introduced by Nuno with half-an-hour to play against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last time out, and the livewire forward even went close to scoring a consolation goal when his added-time header flew over the crossbar. He then went close to scoring for Northern Ireland during the international break when Germany goalkeeper Oliver Baumann denied him a dramatic late FIFA World Cup qualifying equaliser in Belfast.
