West Ham United emerged victorious from a five-goal thriller at Ipswich Town on this date in the calendar 19 years ago.

Paolo Di Canio gave the visitors a first-half lead, and although Hermann Hreidarsson levelled after the break, West Ham took over late on to win it.

Fredi Kanoute restored the advantage on 71 minutes, before Jermain Defoe made it 3-1 in the final minute, ensuring Matt Holland's reply counted for little.
