On This Day: Carroll and Calleri cut down Middlesbrough

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Basset & Gold...

Andy Carroll scored twice to make it back-to-back victories for West Ham United and see the Hammers rise to tenth in the Premier League table on this day in 2017.

The Hammers took the lead inside ten minutes at the Riverside Stadium when Carroll lost his marker to head in a Manuel Lanzini corner.

The hosts hit back with a well-worked move that ended with Cristhian Stuani tapping in Calum Chambers' low cross, but Carroll pounced after Victor Valdes tipped away Michail Antonio's low effort to put the visitors back in front, before Jonathan Calleri's deflected effort made sure of all three points in added time.
