Fornals' Spain lift U21 Euros title

Pablo Fornals in action for Spain U21

Pablo Fornals helped Spain claim the UEFA U21 Championship title with a 2-1 victory over holders Germany in Sunday's final.

Fornals was involved from the start as Spain led from the front to win the continental title at U21 level for a fifth time,

Luis de la Fuente's side set their stall out early, with Napoli midfielder Fabian firing them into a seventh minute lead at Udinese's Dacia Arena,

After the break Daniel Olmo doubled Spain's lead, and although Nadiem Amiri pulled one back in the closing stages, it was too little, too late for Germany,

Spain's victory represented revenge for two years previously, when Germany defeated them in the final of this tournament's last edition.

Fornals, who joined the Hammers from Villarreal last month, enjoyed a fine tournament, scoring two goals in five appearances as he played a key role in his country's success.
