West Ham U23s' Premier League 2 fixtures announced

Dmitri Halajko

West Ham United U23s will host Fulham in their first Premier League 2 game of the season 19/20 on Friday 9 August.

The Hammers will play their home games at Dagenham and Redbridge’s Chigwell Construction Stadium once again this season, before playing three fixtures at the London Stadium towards the end of the campaign.

Following on from Fulham, Dmitri Halajko’s side will face Newcastle and Reading before rounding off August with an eye-catching trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

The first of three Checkatrade Trophy Group Stage games takes place on 4 September and sees West Ham travel to South Wales to play Newport County AFC. Trips to Cheltenham Town and Exeter City then follow on October 8 and 13 November.

Back in the PL2, the U23s will spend the majority of October on the road with trips to Stoke, Norwich and Swansea all before returning home to play Aston Villa on the 22 November.

The festive break is bookended by two home fixtures. Newcastle are the visitors to Dagenham and Redbridge on 16 December and the first game of 2020 sees the U23s host Manchester United on 6 January.

Five of West Ham’s last six games of the PL2 season will currently be played at first-team grounds, this begins with Stoke City at the London Stadium on 17 February.

Swansea City are the opposition for the second game at the London Stadium on the 15 March.

The academy side will travel to Birmingham twice in April to face both Aston Villa and West Brom at Villa Park and The Hawthorns.

West Ham then finish their Premier League 2 season at the London Stadium against Middlesbrough on Sunday 3 May.
