The West Ham United Foundation are excited to once again be a part of the Premier League's Writing Stars competition, which launched this week.
The Foundation will run a local competition, hoping to find some budding poets!
Primary School children from across east London and Essex are being asked to write a poem around the theme of diversity. It can be anything from a rap to song lyrics, poetic verse or rhyme - the aim is to inspire creativity!
The competition is now open and will remain open until Friday 14 December, with three categories based on school years. The categories are Years 1 & 2, Years 3 & 4 and 5 & 6. Poems don't have to rhyme and can be up to 20 lines or 150 words on the theme of diversity.
The West Ham United Foundation have some great prizes up for grabs, including:
- A stadium tour
- Two tickets to a West Ham United game
- Two tickets to West Ham United women's Game
- West Ham United Foundation Goody Bag
The winning poem will also be entered into the Premier League Writing Stars competition and be published in the Matchday Programme.
All entries can be either emailed to [email protected] or posted West Ham United Foundation, 60A Albatross Close, Beckton, London E6 5NX.
