Pablo Zabaleta says the Hammers are determined to put on a show for their fans in the final Premier League game of the season on Sunday.
West Ham United welcome Sam Allardyce’s Everton to London Stadium, hoping to extend their unbeaten run to three games and ensure they finish higher than their current 15th position.
Victory at Leicester last weekend sealed Premier League safety, and following Thursday’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United, Zabaleta wants another positive result.
“We spoke before Thursday that was wanted to finish the season on a high,” he said. “With a good win on Sunday we could finish around tenth or eleventh depending on the results.
“Finishing at home, in front of our fans, you want to end on a high and give them something back.
“On Thursday we showed team spirit and a good effort from everyone. Back to back clean sheets is good too and hopefully we can put another good performance in on Sunday.”
Zabaleta has enjoyed a solid first season in Claret and Blue, ending the campaign as a virtual ever-present despite his now veteran status, and he is already looking forward to the next campaign.
He added: “It’s not been a great season for us, but I’m enjoying myself at West Ham. I’m played 36 games, only missed one game due to suspension and I haven’t been injured.
“Obviously I’ve found myself playing wing-back at the age of 33, and that’s not easy, but I think I’ve run my heart out for the team.
“I came here to enjoy my last few years of football in the strongest league in the world and hopefully I can have another good year at West Ham.
