Adrian happy to see attacking trio returning to action

Adrian says West Ham United will be a different proposition for their Premier League rivals when Marko Arnautovic, Manuel Lanzini and Chicharito are all available for selection.

The attacking trio could all be in contention to start at Liverpool a week on Saturday, with Argentinian playmaker Lanzini set to return from the hamstring injury he suffered in last month’s Emirates FA Cup third-round replay win over Shrewsbury Town.

And with Arnautovic and Chicharito already in potent form, combining for five goals and three assists in West Ham’s last five Premier League matches, Adrian says the Hammers can go to Anfield full of belief.

We hope all the injured players will come back as soon as possible and we can work all together until the end

“Marko is a great player, everyone knows that, and you absolutely miss this kind of player [when he is out injured] and you have to adapt and work in a different way, but now we have Marko back and Manu is ready to come to the team,” the goalkeeper told West Ham TV.

“We hope all the injured players will come back as soon as possible and we can work all together until the end.

“Chicharito is a top striker. I’ve got a great relationship with him and he deserves his goals because he is a hard worker. I’m really happy for him and for the team.”

Manuel Lanzini could be back in first-team action soon

West Ham will travel to Liverpool seeking to extend their unbeaten run at Anfield to four matches in all competitions, and on the back of a morale-boosting 2-0 home win over Watford – Adrian’s first clean sheet in nine league games.

The Spaniard has conceded just 16 goals in 13 Premier League appearances since regaining his starting place and was delighted to keep the Hornets at bay at London Stadium.

“The three points we got on Saturday were massive, especially after we had a bad result the week before. It was tough, but we got three points at home and we played much, much better than last week.

“It’s not easy to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League because you are playing against great teams with good strikers, but on Saturday we worked all together and defended very well, so I think we deserved our victory.

“The Premier League is really tight. Watford beat Chelsea at home in their previous match and they have a new manager and their players were excited, but we were at home with our fans and we gave them a happy weekend with the three points.

“As always the stadium was full and the fans were shouting and helping us. Everyone at West Ham has to enjoy these three points.”
