Team news: Reid & Obiang start against Liverpool

Reid

West Ham United have confirmed their starting XI for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Liverpool and Winston Reid and Pedro Obiang have returned to the side.

Slaven Bilic has made two changes to the team that started against Crystal Palace last weekend with Reid and Obiang replacing Jose Fonte and Pablo Zabaleta, who miss out due to injury and suspension respectively.

Joe Hart once again starts for the Hammers in between the sticks on the back of once again being called into the England squad. The 30-year-old will be with the Three Lions for contests with Brazil and Germany next week.

Reid slots back into the back-line in a straight swap with Fonte. The New Zealand international will play alongside Cheikhou Kouyate – who is making his 100th Premier League start - and Angelo Ogbonna in a defensive trio.

Aaron Cresswell starts on the left while it looks likely that Edimilson Fernandes will play on the opposite flank, with Obiang replacing the 21-year-old in the centre of the park alongside captain Mark Noble.

Today’s match is Noble’s seventh start in the Premier League this campaign.

The two goalscorers from our last game, Chicharito and Andre Ayew, also start in this game against Liverpool and will be joined in an attacking trio by Manuel Lanzini, who will likely sit behind the two strikers.

Although Bilic has had a number of injury concerns to deal with the bench is still stacked with experience as Marko Arnautovic, Andy Carroll, Adrian and Arthur Masuaku are joined by the returning Diafra Sakho.

Declan Rice is also on the bench, having turned out for the U21s midweek in the Checkatrade Trophy, while Sead Haksabanovic.

Today’s match marks the first time Haksabanovic has been named in a Premier League squad since joining West Ham, and the 18-year-old midfielder will be hoping for a chance to impress.
