The Spanish midfielder took Man of the Match honours after producing a peerless performance in the Hammers' first-ever Premier League win at St Mary's, scoring his maiden Claret and Blue goal in the process.

The No14 set up West Ham United's first goal and scored the second in a 3-1 win, while also taking a team-high 65 touches, completing 79.6% of his passes, making three tackles, three interceptions, one clearance and blocking a shot.
