- Frenchman joins James Collins as Hammers still in the competition
France's bid to lift the trophy on home turf continues, but world champions Germany stand in their way on Thursday, with Payet predicting a tough test.
However, after scoring his third goal of the tournament - a sublime left-footed strike into the bottom corner - he says France are well set to take their run further, especially with the link-up between the Hammers star and Antoine Griezmann growing stronger with each game.
He said: "It is a joy to link up with a player like Griezmann. We don't tread on each other's toes.
"What we are going to remember is that they are the world champions. We know what to expect, we know they have qualities. But we have become stronger tonight."
