FA Chief pleased with Hammers approach

FA Chief Executive Officer Martin Glenn is thrilled to see Slaven Bilic taking the FA Cup seriously and hopes the competition will provide even more excitement this season.

Bilic would love the chance to steer the Hammers to their first FA Cup Final since 2006 and knows it would be a fitting way for the Club to finish the final ever season at the Boleyn Ground if they could win the tournament.

The West Ham manager recently stated how much it would mean to him if he could see his players lift the prestigious trophy and will be doing everything he can to help his side achieve that goal.

Glenn said: “I saw Slaven's piece and I thought it was great. The FA Cup is such a huge international property and we sell the rights all across the world. People want to see it and Slaven gets that intrinsically.

“It is a day out at Wembley and it is a real inspiration. It is the big match pressure which you test young players in and develops real fan excitement.

“Nothing quite captures it. The intensity of the FA Cup is not matched anywhere else in Europe.”
