Classic match

West Ham United 3-0 Millwall
Division Two
7 October 1978

West Ham United enjoyed a derby day to remember on this day 37 years ago, when they welcomed Millwall to the Den and sent the Lions home with their tails between their legs.

Bryan 'Pop' Robson was the man who gave the Hammers the glory, netting a hat-trick to leave Millwall well beaten.

Robson's treble included one from the spot as the majority of the 22,210 crowd were given plenty to cheer.

The Hammers missed out on promotion at the end of the campaign in sixth place, while Millwall suffered the pain of relegation to Division Three.
