Mediawatch - 2 September

Transfer Deadline Day was a fairly quiet occasion in E13, with one player arriving and one player leaving West Ham United.

The late-night capture of France international Morgan Amalfitano from Olympique de Marseille was noted by most newspapers, including the Daily Mail and The Guardian, both of whom also round-up the business done by the Hammers during the summer window. The story was also covered by the Newham Recorder.

There is also mention in the national newspapers of Mohamed Diame leaving the Boleyn Ground for Hull City in The Sun (£) and Daily Mail, with the latter claiming the Club received £3.5m for the midfielder's services.

The Daily Mail have also been reading comments from new boy Alex Song posted on whufc.com, in which the Cameroon international revealed that he turned down UEFA Champions League clubs to join the Hammers on loan from Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
