West Ham United Ladies' difficult season continued as they went down to a 5-1 FA Women's Premier League Southern Division defeat at Lewes on Sunday.
The Hammers dropped to second-bottom in the table following their tenth reverse in 17 league matches played.
Two goals from Kirstie Spice and one each from Charlotte Bennett, Clare Trafford and Sian Heather gave the home side a comfortable victory at the Dripping Pan. Kelley Blanchflower netted the consolation for the visitors with her eighth goal of the campaign.
With three league games remaining, West Ham will be hoping to pick up points to climb the standings, but for now all attention will be focused on Thursday's Essex Women's Cup supported by BBC Essex final with Barking Ladies.
The Hammers will be seeking their third success in the tournament, having previously lifted the trophy in 2009 and 2011, while Barking won the competition in 2001 and 2003.
The final will take place at AFC Hornchurch in Bridge Avenue, Upminster on Thursday 17 April, with kick-off at 7.30pm.
