EastEnders actor and Hammers fan Danny Dyer took time out from pulling pints in the Queen Vic to lend his support to West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce this week.
Dyer, who plays pub landlord Mick Carter in the soap opera, backed the Hammers chief whilst filming for Sky Sports' 'Me And My Club' series, in which he also sang the praises of striker Andy Carroll.
"I'm happy with Sam," he explained. "We have to accept the times we're going through and at the moment Big Sam can only do what we can do with the players that he's got available."
One of those players at Big Sam's disposal is Carroll, who will be hoping to earn a place in Roy Hodgson's FIFA World Cup squad this summer.
The forward has found the net against Stoke City and Sunderland in recent weeks, and Canning Town native Dyer believes he should be a certainty to be on the plane to Brazil.
"We've got the big nut Carroll, who's a throwback. He scored a great goal the other night against Sunderland. There are not many players like him.
"When that ball came in it was like slow motion, there was fifteen-odd players in that box and no-one was going to beat him.
"They're all watching him, they all know we're aiming for Andy Carroll's head, and yet he can still rise above everybody and nut that ball beautifully clean on his spam into the net and they can't do anything about it. That is why he should be on the plane to Brazil."
The 36-year-old is a lifelong Hammers fan and revealed in the interview with Sky Sports that his passion for the Club has never been in question.
"I think your club chooses you," he exclaimed. "You don't choose your club.
"I come from Canning Town, West Ham's my club, that's it. Other clubs come to my town to try and nick points off my football club. Now it doesn't matter whether you support West Ham or you support Rochdale, Crewe, or whoever it may be, it's your club and you're proud of it."
While the Hammers have not lifted a major trophy since the 1980 FA Cup victory against Arsenal, Dyer believes there are other factors which make the Club so special.
"We're not known for winning things, but what we are known for is having a good support and having that raw, intense atmosphere. You feel like you've just walked into a football ground.
"We deserve to be in the Premier League, we're that type of club. I'm Claret and Blue through and through and always will be."
