Full-time: That's it. Disappointing night for the Development Squad who go down to a goal just before half-time and a brilliant solo effort. Joe Cole did his best to reverse the flow of the game but his efforts were in vain as Bolton took their chances well to secure victory. The U21s now look ahead to Friday, when they take on Blackburn Rovers at Rush Green.
90: Brown comes out to thwart Knight, clearing the bouncing ball as the midfielder bore down on goal.
89: It looks like it's not going to be the Hammers' night. Bolton have a free-kick on the right. The delivery is ok, but Knoyle is first to it and clears.
87: Burke is down as he slides in to nick the ball away from an attacker. After the ref stops play he's soon back on his feet and ready to play on.
86: Brown puts the ball in the stands as the Hammers back track. Mavila is then taken out as he looks to spring an attack the Hammers win the ball back.
84: Sadlier also heads off now with Bywater replacing him. Bywater has not been short of a goal this season, let's hope he can help provide one here.
83: Walker goes off as Bolton make their third change, Campbell coming on in his place.
82: Mavila crosses from the right where Cole is waiting in the centre. Before ge can get there Holding heads the ball away.
80: Just ten minutes remain for the Hammers to claw their way back into this. Bywater is going through his warm-up on the sideline.
78: Clough's work for the night is done as Knight comes on to replace him.
77: Mavila forces a good save from the 'keeper as he cuts in from the right before unleashing a thunderous strike which bounces just in front of the 'keeper.
75: A corner for Bolton with Kellett burrowing his way forward. Holding heads over from the kick but inexplicably the referee awards another corner. Fortunately, nothing comes of it.
73: The Hammers have enjoyed plenty of the ball but have so far been unable to find a route to the home side's net. A goal now, however, would set us up for a tense finale.
71: Double switch for the visitors as Brown and Cullen jog off to be replaced by Lletget and Mavila.
69: Cole looks to muster a response for the Hammers as he shoots from the edge of the area. His effort forces Lee-Barrett to produce a low save.
67 Goal: Super goal by the home side as Walker picks the ball up on the half-way line before skipping past two defenders and burying a shot from the edge of the box past Brown.
66: Bolton break as a West Ham attack breaks down. Clough is the beneficiary of a sloppy pass by Cullen and he races to the edge of the box before misplacing a through ball, allowing Brown to gather.
64: With his first touches Wilkinson skips past Brown and slots the ball home, only to see the linesman flagging for offside.
63: Bolton are the first to make a change with Wilkinson replacing Youngs in midfield.
61: Potts knocks a long ball forward where Cole shields it before releasing Brown. The striker bears down on goal before seeing his effort deflected out for a corner. The set-piece comes to nothing as Lee-Barrett comes to claim.
60: Bolton have a corner. Walker curls it in towards the back post where Burke is there to win the header.
58: Fanimo whips in a delicious cross from the right, but no Hammers player has attacked the back post and the ball bounces out of play.
56: Haycock orders Fanimo and Sadlier to switch flanks as the Hammers boss looks to spark his side into life.
54: Brown plays Fanimo into the left-hand channel and the winger wins a corner. Cole curls it in but Lee-Barrett is unchallenged as he gathers the ball.
52: Cole breaks out of his own half and tries to feed Fanimo but there isn't enough power on the pass and the hosts are able to clear.
49: Fanimo dribbles the ball around the edge of the box before firing a left-footed shot high and wide.
48: Knoyle does brilliantly to divert the ball out of play just yards from goal as Iliev looks to find Clough with a pass across goal. Cullen gets his head to the corner and clears.
46: The second half is under-way as the Hammers look to overturn a one goal deficit.
Half-time: That's a killer blow right on the stroke of half-time. The Hammers were looking the more likely to score when Bolton caught them cold and Clough teed up Iliev for the goal. The visitors have played well but are finidng it tough to break down their hosts. Joe Cole has been lively and is dictating the Hammers play. Let's hope for better in the second half.
45 Goal: Bolton take the lead as Iliev places the ball past Brown following Clough's through ball.
43: Fanimo over-hits his cross as the Hammers filled the box with half-time approaching.
41: The crowd come to life after a couple of debatable decisions go West Ham's way in quick succession. He's not Mr popular in Bolton.
39: Whitehead concedes a free-kick in the right-hand corner. Potts leaps highest to clear the first wave of attack before Maher heads wide from the second.
37: Gilt-edged chance goes begging for the hosts as Clough picks out Brown from just eight yards out.
36: Harney backtracks into the area with Youngs dribbling menacingly towards goal. The defender does well to partially block his shot before Potts helps to clear.
34: Another shot from the visitors, but this time Fanimo's effort is rather more wayward than Cole's as it heads towards some spectators.
32: Cole takes aim and sends a left-footed curler just wide of the post from outside of the box. The midfielder's looked in fine form so far tonight.
29: Brown is penalised as he appears to bundle over a defender in the box as he looks to get on the end of Potts' cross.
27: A nice passage of play from the visitors as they work it side to side probing for a way through before Knoyle is just unable to control a through ball and the move breaks down.
25: Fanimo picks the ball up on the right before cutting in and floating a ball towards Sadlier at the back post. It flies just over the winger's head however.
23: After a very bright start in which the Hammers should have scored through Brown, Bolton have begun to exert some control over the match and have begun to create opportunities themselves.
21: A great series of blocks by the Hammers denies Kellett and Clough before Woodland's shot goes through into the hands of Brown.
18: Cole looks to take a quick free-kick as Sadlier darts in behind. The ball is just over-hit and rolls out for a goal kick.
16: Clough races into the penalty area and has to stretch as he pokes an effort just past the post.
15: Sadlier looks up and puts a ball over the top of the Bolton back-four where Fanimo is lurking. The winger can't catch it however as it skips out of play.
13: Fanimo forces Lee-Barrett into a superb diving save as he drills a right-footed volley toward the top corner after winning a header. Great effort.
11: The home side go close as Youngs tries to slide a low shot inside Tim Brown's far post but watches as his effort slides just the wrong side of the post with the 'keeper beaten.
10: Bolton come forward for the first time with Kellett jinking inside and trying to feed the striker before Harney makes a great interception and clears.
8: Just as Cole is about to smash a loose ball in the box home, a brave Threlkeld pokes his head at the ball to take it out of the midfielder's path. Great defending as Cole was destined to score.
6: A great chance goes begging for the Hammers! Cole nicks the ball off Holding as the centre-back day dreams on the ball and plays in Brown who fires a shot straight at Lee-Barrett.
4: Cullen switches the play from left to right as Knoyle looks to make ground again. He doesn't beat the full-back but he's already looking to impose himself as an attacking threat.
2: Cole sends Knoyle scampering away down the right and the full-back drills a cross in towards Brown. Threlkeld intercepts and sends the ball out for a corner. The set piece is easily cleared.
1 min: We're off at the County Ground. The Hammers need a win to keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive.
6:57pm: The referee and his assistants lead the two teams onto the pitch where they will undertake the customary pre-match handshakes before we get the game going.
6:50pm: Just ten minutes left until kick-off here in Leyland. The sun is has gone behind the clouds and the temperature is rapidly dropping! That said, this game should be a cracker.
6:45pm: A panoramic view of the idyllic conditions for tonight's game at the County Ground.
6:35pm: The DJ has started pumping up the volume as a good crowd begins to accumulate ahead of kick-off. Sun and football, what more does someone need!
6:22pm: Both sides take a sprightly jog out of the tunnel and onto the pitch to begin their respective pre-match warm-ups. Joe Cole is the stand-out name for the Hammers on tonight's teamsheet.
6:15pm: The 'keepers are first out onto the pitch at the County Ground with Lee Harrison leading No1 Tim Brown and substitute Gines Guzman in their pre-match warm-ups.
6pm: It's a beautifully sunny evening here at the home of the Lancashire FA. The Hammers will enjoy playing on this pitch tonight which looks to be in splendid condition and ideal for passing football.
The Development Squad have travelled north for their latest outing in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League tonight, as they take on Bolton Wanderers at the County Ground. After a 5-3 defeat against Arsenal on 24 March, manager Nick Haycock set his side a target of four wins from their four remaining fixtures. Haycock saw his charges clear the first of those hurdles when they saw off Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Boleyn Ground on 28 March. The Trotters represent the second obstacle in the young Hammers path and they come into the match off the back of a 2-1 victory against Arsenal.
Striker Jordan Brown will be looking to pick up where he left off after scoring one and making the other against Middlesbrough. The 17-year-old also netted twice in the defeat to Arsenal and has filled the void left by injured top scorer Elliot Lee superbly. Also in the Development Squad starting XI tonight is fans favourite Joe Cole, who will be looking to get some valuable minutes under his belt this evening.
