The Club's junior teams did manage to take to the pitch this weekend, however, with the Under-13s enjoying a resounding 13-0 victory in their Essex County Girls League Cup tie against East Bergholt.
Poppy Binding notched five of the goals, while Kelly Wealthall scored four. Tessa O'Connor had a hand in much of the attacking play, while Mia Seeley, Molly Bowness, Sophie Kelly and Maddie O'Connor all managed to get on the scoresheet.
The Under-17s were made to pay for a slow start in a 4-3 loss to Eastern Avenue. Trailing 4-1 at the break, they rallied well, but ultimately goals from Aldana Zenka and two for Shellie Sumpter were not enough to rescue a point.
Meanwhile, the Under-11s were involved in a round-robin festival with Charlton Athletic, Watford and two teams from Colebrook Royals. The format gave the Hammers eight short games and they performed well to win three and draw four of them, only conceding two goals in the process.
