Richard House Children's Hospice, one of West Ham United's official club charities, raised much-needed funds at their recent annual ball.
The Beckton-based hospice managed to raise around £94,000 at the event, which was held at the Waldorf Hotel in central London.
Several auction prizes were snapped up by guests, including a visit for two people to watch the first-team train this season and meet Hammers midfielder and Richard House patron Mark Noble. Other auction prizes included signed guitars by former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and 1970s supergroup Abba.
The ball provided an insight into just some of the work the hospice does and what it offers children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The hospice also offers much-needed respite for the families of those with children or siblings with terminal illnesses and the money raised at the ball is just a small part of the £2.77m needed annually to keep the hospice running.
Parents and guardians of children currently at the hospice were also able to meet guests such as actor and Strictly Come Dancing star Colin Salmon at the ball, before enjoying a meal and auction.
Manjeet Boparai, ball event organiser said: "We would like to thank everyone who has helped contribute to the evening and all those who donated. It was a wonderful evening and all the money raised will go to support the families we care for from across London and the south east."
