West Ham United will once again be making waves in the fashion world this weekend.
Avant-garde designer Angy Morton will be unveiling a unique collection of designer football fan wear, including some samples created for the club, at Fashion Mavericks during London Fashion Week, on Saturday.
Her recent Stolen Dreams couture collection, an eclectic fusion of fashion and football, provided the inspiration for the latest project. She said West Ham had been leading the way in showing interest in trying limited lines of designer fashion, following the success of the Katy Perry-worn basque last year.
"When I created Stolen Dreams I realised there was a lack of quality fashion for female fans," Angy said. "Girls were always complaining that all they had to show their support for their club was an unflattering replica shirt so I decided to create something completely different that could be worn not only at the match, but also for an evening out.
"Recent Premier League statistics show that nearly one in five adults passing through the turnstiles is female. However,I have found many clubs reluctant to try something new or radical for the girls, relying instead on the huge sales guaranteed from men's replica shirts."
